Brian Otieno

I am Khan Continumz, a Kenyan Afropop artist, songwriter and performer committed to creating authentic music that connects with people through love, emotions and real-life experiences. My sound blends Afropop, Afrobeat and Bongo Flava, with an East African identity and a contemporary approach. My project, “Three Shades of Love,” is a body of work that explores different dimensions of love through three distinct songs: “Champion,” “Nani Anapinga?” featuring Liz Tino, and “Sawa (Ni Sawa).” Each song represents a different emotional shade, from admiration and devotion to relationship challenges, acceptance and appreciation. The project reflects my growth as an artist, songwriter and performer, while showcasing my versatility and ability to tell different stories through music. I have also been recognized with the Wezesha Awards for Best Afropop Artist, further motivating me to continue producing quality music and contributing to Kenya's growing creative industry. I am applying for Album of the Year because “Three Shades of Love” represents a complete artistic concept rather than just individual songs. It demonstrates my creativity, versatility, consistency and commitment to developing a distinctive Kenyan Afropop sound that can connect with audiences locally and internationally.
